Ken Follett is taking readers to Stonehenge for his next novel.
Grand Central will publish Follett’s Circle of Days next fall, the press announced in a news release, calling it “truly ambitious in scope.”
Follett, whose books routinely appear on bestseller lists, is known for his historical novels, including The Pillars of the Earth, a book set in medieval England that spawned a prequel and three sequels, the most recent of which, The Armor Of Light, was published last year. His other books include his first bestseller, Eye of the Needle, as well as A Dangerous Fortune, Fall of Giants, and A Column of Fire.
Circle of Days, according to Grand Central, will follow a series of characters involved in the creation of Stonehenge, the mysterious structure in England that was constructed thousands of years ago.
“Stonehenge is one of the world’s most iconic and recognizable monuments but, in reality, so little is known about it,” Follett said in a statement. “I’ve written before about moments of great human achievement and I’ve always been drawn to stories of ordinary people doing seemingly impossible things, and what could be more extraordinary than the construction of this enormous monument. It’s such a remarkable achievement and one of the greatest mysteries of all time and that’s a fantastic combination for a story.”
Circle of Days is scheduled for publication on Sept. 23, 2025.
