Casey McQuiston’s next novel will hit bookstore shelves in 2024.
St. Martin’s Griffin will publish McQuiston’s The Pairing next summer. It will be the fourth novel from the romance author known for their bestselling 2019 debut, Red, White & Royal Blue.
The Pairing, the publisher says, will follow “two bisexual exes [who] accidentally book the same European food and wine tour and challenge each other to a hookup competition to prove they’re over each other—except they’re definitely not.”
McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue shot up the bestseller charts shortly after its release, and was adapted into a 2023 film directed by Matthew López and starring Taylor Zakhar Perez, Nicholas Galitzine, and Uma Thurman.
McQuiston followed that novel up with two more: One Last Stop, published in 2021, and I Kissed Shara Wheeler, a young adult book, in 2022.
McQuiston announced the news of their new novel on Instagram, writing, “THE PAIRING is about discovery and growth, hedonism and decadence, sex and gender, laughing and crying, art and bodies, and—most importantly—food and drink. it’s about the home you’ll always come back to no matter how far you travel. we chose the title because some flavors are inseparable, always better together.”
The Pairing is slated for publication on Aug. 6, 2024.
