Popular TikTok personality Noah Beck will star in a film adaptation of Tay Marley’s novel The QB Bad Boy and Me, Deadline reports.
Beck, a former soccer player who has more than 32 million followers on TikTok, will also produce the movie.
Marley’s novel, published in 2019 by Wattpad Books, follows the romance between Dallas, a high school cheerleader, and Drayton, the school’s star quarterback. A critic for Kirkus wrote of the book, “Despite its enjoyable characters and palpable passion, sloppy execution and overall predictability make this one to skip.”
There’s no director yet for the film, which will be written by Mary Gulino and produced by Creator+ and Wattpad Webtoon Studios.
Marley shared news of the film on Instagram, writing, “This is literally THE DREAM. From the beginning of my writing journey, I have been immensely grateful for simply having published one book. I couldn’t have been happier with that sort of success. And then I published another and now I WILL HAVE A FILM ADAPTION.”
On Twitter, she praised Beck’s casting, saying that “Noah will do an incredible job playing the part.”
As for Beck, he announced his involvement with the film on TikTok, writing, “couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity. been preparing behind the scenes for some time now and im just so anxious to help bring this story to life.”
His post was accompanied by a video in which he says, “I don’t really get what’s going on here. But it seems pretty cool!”
