Julianne Hough will make her literary debut with a novel coming later this year.
Sourcebooks Landmark will publish the dancer and actor’s Everything We Never Knew, co-written by Ellen Goodlett (Rule),this summer, the press announced in a news release. It describes the novel as “a work of contemporary women’s fiction that taps into the world of spiritual wellness, auric energy, and the unseen forces that decide our fate.”
Hough has appeared in films including Burlesque, Footloose, and Rock of Ages, but is best known for her work as a dancer and judge on the television competition series Dancing With the Stars, which she currently co-hosts with Alfonso Ribeiro. She has been nominated for three Emmy Awards for her role on the show, winning one of the trophies in 2015.
Her novel follows Lexi, a young Utah real estate agent who discovers that she is able to key into other people’s memories and feelings. She reluctantly uses her newfound powers to become an “energetic healer.”
“It’s a very personal story about change, having the courage to leap into the unknown, and the power that all of us can tap into once we know how to look for it,” Hough said in a statement.
Everything We Never Knew is scheduled for publication on Aug. 13.
