An unexpected guest at a Georgia college has decided that the school is library is for the birds.

A barred owl fell through the chimney of the McCain Library at Agnes Scott College, a private school in Decatur, Georgia, on Monday, causing the building to be shut down, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The library would very much like the bird to leave, but it doesn’t seem to give a hoot.

While the library’s ground floor reopened on Thursday, the rest of the library remains closed, as the owl, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that it likes its new perch—despite the efforts of a falconer to lure it out.

Nathalie Slaughter, an Agnes Scott College student, witnessed the owl while studying at the library earlier in the week, WSB-TV reports.

“My soul left my body,” the student said. “But also, it was nice to see an owl up-close. But it scared the crap out of me, because it’s a bird of prey! I don’t want it to claw my face out!”

The college’s social media team has been having fun with the incident. On Instagram, the library posted a picture of a sign hung outside the library featuring the words “Limited Access Until Feather Notice.”

And on Twitter, the college posted a picture of the owl, asking for assistance from nearby Kennesaw State University, whose athletic teams are nicknamed the Owls.

“Hey @kennesawstate, do you think we could get our library back?” the college wrote. “Asking for a friend.”
