Reese Witherspoon’s massively popular book club is getting an app, Fast Company reports.

The mobile app, which can be downloaded for free, will give book club members a way to buy books and merchandise.

App users will get advance notice about the book club’s monthly picks and will have access to virtual events put on by Hello Sunshine, Witherspoon’s media company. Readers will be able to buy books through the app; the profits will benefit The Readership, a “pay it forward platform” that will encourage literacy.

“Together, we've seen that our books have the power to spark discussions, make us laugh when we need it most and bond us over something bigger than ourselves,” Witherspoon wrote on her book club’s website. “It energized me and encouraged me to see there was more we could do together. That’s how our new Reese’s Book Club app and The Readership, our pay it forward platform, were born.”

Hello Sunshine Senior Vice President Erica Green said Witherspoon’s book club will still update its Instagram account, where much of the discussion about the actor’s book club picks has taken place.

“But we’re going to encourage people to download the app,” Green said. “It’s a place for us to go deeper with a community that we know is craving even more ways to engage with us.”

Witherspoon launched her book club in 2017. Her latest selection, announced this week, is Sarah Pearse’s novel The Sanatorium.
