Melania Trump’s book might not be a memoir after all.
The first lady is considering writing a coffee-table book after she leaves the White House, CNN reports. She’s said to be mulling “a photo-centric coffee-table book about White House hospitality history, or one perhaps centered on the design projects she has completed while first lady,” an anonymous source told the network.
News that Trump was thinking about writing a book broke last month, with Page Six reporting that the president’s wife wanted to write a memoir. Her husband encouraged her to do so, a source told the website.
Her predecessor as first lady, Michelle Obama, found huge success with her 2018 memoir, Becoming, which was the best-selling book in the country that year. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel last month, former President Barack Obama joked that while his own book outsold his wife’s in the first week of release, he’s “not rubbing it in over dinner.”
A photo book might be a natural fit for Melania Trump, who started her career as a fashion model before launching a line of jewelry and skin care products.
Speculation continues to grow over her husband’s possible literary plans. When asked by the New York Times last month, some publishers were noncommittal about whether they would be interested in signing a book deal with the president once he leaves office.
