Sandra Oh has lent her voice to a new audiobook edition of Min Jin Lee’s Pachinko, People magazine reports.

Lee’s novel, published in 2017 by Grand Central, follows a Korean family that moves to Japan in the early 20th century. The book became a bestseller and was a finalist for the National Book Award. It was adapted into a television series that premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022; its second season started airing in August.

The original audiobook version of the novel was narrated by actor Allison Hiroto, who has also narrated books by Haruki Murakami, Susanna Fogel, and Mariko Turk.

Oh, the Emmy-winning actor known for her roles in the television series Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve and films including The Princess Diaries and Quiz Lady, will narrate the new audiobook edition.

Lee praised Oh, telling People, “It is an exquisite gift to have the great actor Sandra Oh read Pachinko. She captures the yearning, struggle and passion for life of a heroic family. I am grateful for her masterful interpretation.”

On Instagram, Lee also shared a photo of Oh recording the audiobook, with the caption, “The great @iamsandraohinsta recorded the Pachinko audiobook. She is magnificent.”

The new audiobook was released on Tuesday.
