Politician, activist, and author Stacey Abrams has a book deal to write two more political thrillers, the Associated Press reports.

The new novels by Abrams, the former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, will feature Avery Keene, the protagonist of While Justice Sleeps, which was released earlier this month.

“I am thrilled to continue the story of Avery Keene—an exciting and brilliant protagonist—with Doubleday,” Abrams said in a statement to the AP. “Avery began her adventures in While Justice Sleeps, and now we can follow her as she discovers what’s next for her and those she loves in the years ahead.”

While Justice Sleeps follows Keene, a law clerk for a Supreme Court justice, whose boss falls into a coma under mysterious circumstances. The novel is being adapted as a television series with Abrams as executive producer.

In addition to While Justice Sleeps, Abrams is the author of eight romance novels that she wrote under the pen name Selena Montgomery. Three of those novels, now out of print, are being republished next year by Penguin Random House imprint Berkley.

It’s not clear what Abrams’ book deal might mean for her political career. She’s thought to be interested in running for governor of Georgia in 2022, in a potential rematch of the 2018 race, which she lost narrowly to Republican Brian Kemp.
