Stephen King returned to the social platform X and wasted no time taking a shot at President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
The legendary horror author was once a prolific poster on the platform, where he has 6.9 million followers, but on Nov. 14 of last year, posted, “I'm leaving Twitter. Tried to stay, but the atmosphere has just become too toxic. Follow me on Threads, if you like,” referring to Meta’s social network.
King racked up 832,000 followers on Threads, where he routinely posted corny dad jokes and criticisms of Trump and X owner Musk. But he never seemed to totally buy into Threads. Responding to a Threads user who posted, “Does anybody ever answer on here or is it a big waste of time?,” King wrote, “Big waste of time. :-)”.
Last week, King posted on X, “I’m baaaack! Did you miss me?” Two minutes later, he wrote, “Just wanted to say that Trump is a traitorous, Putin-loving dipshit! Goes double for Elon!”
The next day, King took another shot at Trump, related to the president’s tense confrontation with Maine Gov. Janet Mills over transgender athletes.
“Governor Janet Mills to Trump: ‘See you in court.’ Makes me proud to be a Maine man. Thank you, Governor, for standing up to the bully,” King posted.
