Reese Witherspoon has selected Ally Condie’s The Unwedding as the latest pick for her popular book club.

Condie’s novel, her first for adult readers, was published Tuesday by Grand Central. It follows Ellery Wainwright, a recently divorced woman who travels to a wedding in Big Sur, California. She discovers the body of the groom, drowned in a lake, and after a second mysterious death, becomes stranded with the other guests after a mudslide cuts off access to the resort.

In a starred review, a critic for Kirkus praised the book as “a gorgeous murder mystery that explores what it means to be human—the pain and the love.”

Witherspoon revealed her latest pick on Instagram, with a video of her walking and reading the book. She gets a text message from her mother (“Are you on your way??”) and says, “Oh, I’ve got to take this to go,” before clicking on the audiobook version of the novel on her phone.

The video is a nod to her partnership with Apple Books, which she announced will now be the “official audio home for Reese’s Book Club.”

Also on Instagram, Condie reacted to her novel’s selection, writing, “I truly cannot believe this. I have been a fan of Reese’s since The Man in the Moon came out when I was thirteen. I had a Seventeen magazine with her on it that I read cover to cover. I admire her as an actor, a creator, a mom, a woman who makes things happen, an advocate, a businesswoman.…the list goes on and on and on.”
